old-bearing quartz isn't something a gold miner finds every day. Intruded with precious, yellow metal, such rock becomes highly sought after. Now we've entered into the mystical realm of GOLD!
There's no need for a pocket lens to see the oro packed into this small chunk. The Au is massed inside a large bed of oxidized-iron or rust. Featured specimen is naturally-occurring mineralization - Born-in-the-U.S.A.
All my rocks show visible gold and are
authentic
.
I don't sell low grade gold ores. I sell naturally-occurring gold quartz ores with visible gold. Most are from the U.S. These high-grade beauties are expensive to obtain and even harder to find. Prices aren't based upon the amount of gold contained, but on the authenticity, rarity and collectability of specimens.

For years, I poured through old mining dumps inspecting orange-yellow-rust rock through a loupe. In all that time, I never found a solitary piece with visible gold. Doesn't that seem strange to you? It does to me, law of averages and all. Oh yeah! Tell me how easy it is to find gold. It's not! That's the reality of it, and yet, having spent eighteen years in the placer fields of North American, I still think a person stands a decent chance of locating minable gold deposits provided they have the right tools and the right claim.
Hydrothermal solutions carried gold and silica into fissures. These minerals hardened or crystallized thus creating gold veins. This is how gold quartz, as they are known, came to be. The specimen offered here comes from one of the many vein systems sourcing the immense placer deposits of the Sierra Nevada Mtns, the famed Mother Lode.

WHAT'S A NUGGET WORTH?
Personal experience tells me nuggets
are
worth exactly what
you can get for them.
If, before someone
agrees to buy a nugget, they wish to negotiate and then persuade
you to
lower the
price.
As a result, you’re paid what, for you, is
a less-than-optimal or ideal sum.
Whose fault was that? You
receive the money agreed to once you
let the deal go down. The buyer of your
nugget may have a
marketing
angle. They may know people. He can
turn around
and double his money on what once was your nugget. Good for him. A
long
time
ago,
I
discovered
that if the right collector comes along and likes something,
he
may pay 10 times spot. Was your nugget worth 10 times spot?
Is selling it for a high asking price
profiteering or just a case of good, old-fashioned dickering skill?
Has ethics entered into the equation?
Not the way I see it. You asked for something and, luckily, got it.
Many times, sellers and buyers
are amenable to negotiation. Since my own claims were
worked by hand,
I never viewed being paid a healthy premium
for a hard-won nugget
as being greedy or exploitative. Au contraire
. What greater investment can any person make in the first place
than the ‘sweat equity’ he pours
into
finding a prize piece of native gold? In my Blue Book, t
hat's plenty good enough reason to hold
out for
a better price. G. Ralph
