  • Condition: Torn paper edge at left top of a 1-page sales document wherein a steer or novillo was sold for 50 (Sincuenta) Pesos in Tianguistenco, Mexico, and has animals atop the page. Has several folds and measures 9" wide by 13.5" long and not all of it fit on my scanner but bottom is blank. I also show a wider view of the top which shows at the upper left side near the burro a drawing of the Brand burned onto the animal. (Looks like an R with horns.) It has two 50 Centavo revenue stamps and was issued by the MESON DEL MUNICIPIO / DE / TIANGUISTENCO, MEX. Dated 26 Febrero 1952 with primitive 2 twice in the date. As primitive as this appears I was surprised it was only 60+ years old but I am sure if you were present you'd think it was in the early 1900's!

    Mexico Sale of NOVILLO or Steer; TIANGUISTENCO MEX. 1952 for 50 Pesos PRIMITIVE!
    Torn paper edge at left top of a 1-page sales document done on inexpensive paper wherein a steer or novillo was sold for 50 (Sincuenta) Pesos in Tianguistenco, E(do.), Mexico, and has 3 farm animals atop the page. Has several folds horizontally and vertically and measures 9" wide by 13.5" long and not all of it fit on my scanner but bottom is blank. I also show a wider view of the top which shows at the upper left side near the burro a drawing of the Brand branded onto the animal. (Looks like an R with horns; probably for the owner's name R[aymundo] C[uervas?]). It has two 50 Centavo revenue stamps and was issued by the MESON DEL MUNICIPIO / DE / TIANGUISTENCO, MEX. Dated 26 Febrero 1952 with primitive 2 twice in the date. As primitive as this appears I was surprised it was only 60+ years old but I am sure if you were present for the issue of this you'd think it was in the early 1900's! This would look great framed and on a wall.
