SIGNED BY THE FOUNDER OF THE GREAT PYRENEES BREED IN THE UNITED STATESBASQUAERIE KENNELS, 1941 DOG PEDIGREE, SIGNED BY MARY W. CRANE
HOLLISTON, MA BASQUAERIE KENNELS, 1941 CHAMPION DOG PEDIGREE
BASQUAERIE KENNELS, REG. Great Pyrenees.
English Cocker Spaniels. Holliston, MA. Born January 10, 1941.
Signed by Mary W. Crane.
The dog’s name is Basquarie Six Shot Foxy, and is the offspring of Champion Golden Pheasant of Glenbervie (AKC#) and Chamption Wagtail’s Flammmchen of Basquaerie (AKC#), and described as an English Cocker male puppy. Single sheet (13.5 x 8.5 inches), printed on one side, illustrated in black-and-white, reproducing photos of two Champion Great Pyrenees, the first American-bred Champion and the first Sire and Champion in America. Good condition; creased at old folds, with few short tears. It would look great framed, and make a great gift for the Great Pyrenees fan in your life.
Mary W. A. Crane is recognized as the founder of the Great Pyrenees breed in the United States. The Historic Preservation Committee has been entrusted with many of her old photos, kennel records, etc. She left the bulk of her estate to the Dog Museum in St. Louis. I think this was relatively early in the history of the introduction of Great Pyrenees in the U.S.
