This is a super nice sponge gold nugget from northern California. It is very rare and hard to find for sale as collectors love the fine texture of sponge gold. The individual gold sponge like crystals are beautifully displayed in matrix with pyrite crystal on the top corner. This mostly sponge gold specimen in a prime example of ultra rare sponge gold from California. I have never seen another crystalline sponge gold
specimen with pyrite in matrix of all my years of collecting gold specimens.
