    Description

    Extremely SCARCE low production 1953 Studebaker Commander Starliner Coupe promo model. The Raymond Loewy designed 1953 Studebaker is considered by many to be the most beautiful car of the 1950's. This 1/25 scale (about 8" x 3") promo model was made by Banthrico and they did a fine job. The great promo model collector and expert Bill Buckingham (who worked part-time at Banthrico Industries while in High School and College) said there was a problem with Studebaker over the authorization to produce this model and production was stopped after only a very short run of these were made. A beautifully well scaled 1953 Studebaker Banthrico version almost never comes up for sale. Additionally,unlike the 1953 Studebaker AMT version,which was made of a plastic that warped badly over time,this model will ALWAYS be "straight as a bullet!  A truly rare model and it is in the flashy Bombay Red color.
